What does my child learn in Foundation Stage Science?
Early science is introduced indirectly through activities that encourage your child to explore, problem solve, observe, predict, think, make decisions and to talk about what they do and see in the world around them. Foundation Stage Curriculum
The Foundation Stage is your child's introduction to the National Curriculum. Focusing on children aged 3 to 5, the Foundation Stage begins during your child's time at nursery, and follows them through to the end of their Reception year.
During this stage, your child's learning is encouraged through exploration and play, and is based around the following six key areas:
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Communication, language and literacy
- Mathematical development
- Knowledge and understanding of the world
- Physical development
- Creative development
