The Basildon Bond brand is owned by John Dickinson Stationery Limited, a company with great heritage, established in 1804 and owner of other brands such as Lion Brand, Oxford Black n' Red and Cambridge notebooks. Over recent years new additions to the Oxford brand portfolio include Pink & Black, npad and ranges for the education market, in addition to other products that meet the needs of today's society.
Basildon Bond has also developed beyond the traditional personal stationery range, and now includes quality recycled writing paper and envelopes, business envelopes and a brand new range of environmentally friendly notebooks for 2008 called One Chance.

About Stabilo

STABILO is an international writing instruments manufacturer who have been renowned for high quality products for over 150 years. In the 1970s we created the world's first highlighter - the STABILO BOSS original. Since its creation it has been the number one selling brand in Europe, and a household name.

In the late 1990s STABILO decided to rebrand and move away from focusing just on office products and start looking at products for children. It is now our aim to produce products that actively help children when learning how to write and draw, as well as provide a bit of fun while doing. All our products are designed with children in mind, so have strong bright colours and interesting shapes, however each strange curve has a function behind it and nothing is made to simply ‘look pretty'!

STABILO products stand for design, trends and lifestyle. Whereas in the past the main focus was on the pens' technological features, such as the amount of ink and the line thickness, the needs and wants of those who write, highlight or draw with a STABILO are now central to product development from the very beginning. This results in innovative and high-quality products perfectly suited to modern lifestyles, especially to those of young people.

About the National Handwriting Association

The National Handwriting Association is a charity, with a membership of people interested in handwriting and how it is taught. The association works at improving standards of handwriting in schools by advising and training teachers and teaching assistants, and by publishing books on relevant topics.
Parents may also find the materials helpful and it is hoped that in the future we may have the resources to address more fully parental concerns.
The aims of NHA are:
  • Raise awareness of handwriting as a crucial component of literacy
  • Promote and foster good practice in the teaching of handwriting
  • Provide support for those working with children and adults who have handwriting difficulties
To fulfil these aims it:
  • Maintains an up-to-date website
  • Runs in-service training in schools, clinics and other centres
  • Runs an accredited course on handwriting in collaboration with the University of London Institute of Education
  • Produces an annual journal for members to keep them informed on the latest research and books on handwriting, and writing equipment
  • Publishes practical booklets and other materials on specific aspects of handwriting
  • Liaises with commercial enterprises to give guidance on the manufacture of writing equipment
  • Works with central and local government to improve standards of handwriting
  • Supports research into handwriting.
