Naturalistic Intelligence

About Naturalistic Intelligence

Your child is very likely naturalistic intelligent if she has a yearning towards nature - plants, animals and the environment. She is probably good at identifying and classifying wildlife, can easily remember where different animals live and the names of different types of plants, and generally feels quite comfortable outdoors. She will be attuned to the natural environment and what is happening with it today.

Your child will enjoy
  • Being outdoors
  • Going camping and on expeditions
  • Being close to wildlife and plants
  • Watching wildlife, in person and on television
Here's how to help your naturalistic intelligent child learn best
  • Obviously, get outdoors; go on trips and nature walks.
  • Encourage your child to investigate issues around the environment.
  • Identifying and classifying wildlife and animals will help in maths and science.
  • Read books about the environment (including animals and plants) or with an environmental theme.
  • Take your child to listen to talks by nature specialists.
  • If you can, get your child a pet - there is plenty to learn in the process of taking care of one.
