Issue 4
The weather is warming up (well, we can keep praying) and we are moving towards a very busy time in the school year with national tests, exams and lessons that are organised around the great outdoors. Yes, it can all become quite stressful, but let's not forget that the best way to support children as they learn is by making learning enjoyable and fun. Luckily my child is on hand with a line up of great features and ideas to help you do just that. Here's a peek in to issue 4.

We're in the grip of summer and the schools are about to break up for the holidays. It can be hard keeping your little ones busy over the next six weeks but don't despair - my child is packed full of ideas and handy hints on keeping the kids occupied and having fun, in and outside of the home. At this time of the year it's all about keeping the kids occupied and preparing for the new school year - so here's some good news. Whether you have children who are moving up a year group, starting school for the first time or moving up to secondary school - my child has plenty of advice, tips and ideas to help you make it a stress-free transition into the new term. It is full of tips to help you avoid the summer 'Brain Drain', giving your children the headstart they need to return to school ready to learn. Issue 7
This issue is geared towards making the most of whatever time you have to spend with your children. Spending time together while you eat dinner is another way to prevent children losing out to our busy lifestyles. We take a look at the benefits of dinner table bonding to acknowledge Back to the Dinner Table Week. Another important week this month focuses on mental health, we have included an article with some tips on keeping your child's mental health in optimum shape and how to recognise early signs. Our special education need section explores the link between nutrition and behavioural issues.

Issue 8
With Christmas fast approaching my child is here to help. There are some really great educational toys and learning resources on the market that can inspire your child's thinking, creativity and learning. These are outlined in our three-page spread on educational toys. In our 'real issues' section, we visit homes where getting the kids off to school is a battle because they hate the place. This can be an extremely distressing experience for both parent and child, so we offer some reassurances and tips to turn them back onto learning.

Winter may be on its way out, but unfortunately the chilly weather looks set to inevitably outstay its welcome for another year. Luckily my child has some great idea's for foods to beat the cold. We'll also be offering you tips on creating the ideal study area for your child, and looking at the importance of getting kids to talk. Make sure you take a look at this month's 'Real Issues' too, as we ask the question - does your child's independence scare you?

Issue 10
The key focus for this issue is SATs, and even if your child isn't taking them this year it's a subject every parent needs to know about. SATs affect your child's education from the moment he or she starts school and is even used to predict what GCSE grades they are likely to get. Also in this issue 'Hot pack lunch ideas', 'Creating the ideal place to play', 'Teaching kids finance skills and, of course, reader verdicts after road testing arts and crafts resources.
