Can you describe yourself in three words?

Delightful, determined ...divorced!

Other than being a full-time mummy, what other work do you do?

I am writing my second novel and work two days a week in a newspaper office. I spend a lot of time trying to dream up feature ideas and then try to find the courage to sell them to people! That's apart from my full-time job of trying to find out how my eldest daughter makes such enormous holes in her tights, of course ... Before having children, I worked full time on a national newspaper as a journalist.

How did you first get into blogging?

I got into blogging when my very clever brother visited from California. He said to me, "You like to write - you'll love to blog," and of course I do. Having my blog is an outlet, a way of testing writing ideas and it's also become a way to make some great friends online. I feel as though I've stumbled into a great community of fellow mothers and bloggers.

What’s the best comment you’ve ever had on your blog?

Someone once said I'd made them laugh so much they wet themselves. A proud moment!

Do you have a favourite blog?

I have a lot of favourite blogs, including Alcoholic Daze, a sad story told in an unsentimental, though always moving, way.

What’s your proudest parenting moment?

My proudest parenting moment was when my eldest was in hospital for tests as a baby. Thankfully, she was fine, but when we took her home, we noticed her first tooth had come through. I was so proud that she had just got on with growing up and had done this all on her own, while we had been rushing around worrying. It was very special, and the moment when I realised she was already her own little person.

Do you have a favourite parenting mantra?

If you think you can't, you won't. If you think you can, you will!

Can you think of a time when your kids really embarrassed you?

They never embarrass me - but I consider it my job to embarrass them!

What’s your biggest parenting concern at the moment?

Teenage years - eeeeeeeeeek!

If you could have do a five minute interview with anyone on the planet who would it be?

I'd love five minutes with Jane Austen. The question: Elizabeth and Darcy - how did it really go? Happily ever after ....or did they get divorced??
